Moutarde Royale with Cognac

Posted in Random Musings  by Administrator on May 20th, 2009

The other day we went to the Intermarche supermarket in Lezignan-Corbieres, and finding the shopping experience a shocking experience, decided to buy a pot of extra special mustard to make ourselves feel better! It was an outrageous €6.50 for a 250g pot.
The packaging may look impressive, but it was a real pig to open. The sealing wax was a nightmare to remove and shattered into tiny particles, so I had to be extra careful when I finally made it to the cork stopper, making sure none of the sealing wax fell into the mustard when lifting the cork.
Just goes to show that all that glitters is not gold.

The mustard is most pleasant and should be for the price, but regardless of the price, I would not buy it again. Just too awkward to open.

The only real reason for heading to the Intermarche in Lezignan is that, it is the only supermarket that sells mint sauce.
A kitchen witout mint sauce is like a car without a steering wheel!
So we brought 3 steering wheels :-)
